Postseason Wrap Up 1995 

Bo Jackson, in a news conference today, announced that he wold be retiring from Brassball.  Jackson said, "Being on a world series winner has made my career fulfilled.  I don't have anything else I need to prove to anyone.  I want to go home and just spend some time with my family."  Box City's Manager, Lenny Luchtefeld said "Bo will be greatly missed.  I am happy for Bo, he was an inspiration to all of us this year.  It is amazing the things he can still do with an artificial hip.  He even stole a base this year," Luchtefeld said. 

Jackson started his Brassball career with Cahrlevoix, a 19^th round pick, but was traded to Box City in May of 1995.  Jackson and John Dettmer went to the Parcelmen for relief pitcher Darren Hall.  "It was a beneficial trade, it improved our offense and their pitching," said Luchtefeld.  Since coming over from Carlevoix, Jackson batted .270 with 16 homers and 57 RBI's in 58 games. 

Jackson also had a tremendous post season, capped off with a World Series victory.  Bo played in 15 games, batted .321 with six homers and 17 RBIs.  He was named co-World Series MVP with Danny Cox. 

Jackson is retiring at the ripe old age of 32.  He should have plenty of time to spend with is family.  We will miss you Bo Jackson.  Good luck in the future.
