Jorge Posada ripped 2 homeruns and had 6 RBI and Darryl Kile was able to
finish what he started and was credited with a complete game as the Minnesota
Mudcats beat the Plaza Lions by a score of 13 to 5.
Posada propelled Minnesota to victory. He popped a two-run clout over the
fence in the 6th inning, blasted a two-run home run (his 2nd of the season)
in the 8th inning and doubled bringing in a run in the 9th inning. The
Minnesota offense was great, scoring in 7 of the 9 innings.
The winning pitcher was Kile(1-0) who allowed 5 runs for the game. Gil
Heredia(0-1) took the loss. He was unable to control the Minnesota offense
and allowed 8 hits and 6 walks in 4 and 2/3 innings.
'Posada led the way - we just jumped on his back and let him take us,' Kile
said. 'I'm glad I don't have to face him. I'm glad he's on my team.'
