The Cincinnati fans didn't appreciate the big day Abreu had. He lofted a three-run bomb in the 3rd inning and hit a bases-empty home run (his 2nd of the season) in the 5th inning. Offensively, Metropolis was a juggernaut. They scored in 6 separate innings. Johnson(2-0) picked up the complete game victory, allowing 3 runs. Woody Williams(0-1) was the loser. Johnson didn't realize how many strikeouts he was racking up. When told he had 10 he was obviously surprised, 'No kidding? Man, I knew that I had a decent total, but I didn't think I had K'd that many. Say, that's pretty good, isn't it?'
