Barry Bonds lofted one into the 'cheap seats' and had 5 RBI at Hall of Justice
as the Metropolis Avengers won in their last at-bat beating the Cincinnati
Royals by the count of 6 to 3.

Metropolis came through with the game-winning runs in the 9th inning scoring 3
runs using 2 hits.  Eric Chavez led off the inning for Metropolis when he
stroked a base-hit.  J.T. Snow was a strikeout victim, unable to help out.
One out later, Melvin Mora came up and he drew a walk.  Bonds followed and he
belted a three-run homer (his 2nd of the season) giving Metropolis the win
much to the delight of the home town crowd.  Metropolis had 12 hits overall,
while Cincinnati had 9.  

Akinori Otsuka(1-0) went 2 innings allowing 1 run for the win. Shigetoshi
Hasegawa(0-1) ended up with the loss in relief.  He surrendered 1 hit and 1
walk in 1/3 of an inning.
