The Santa Barbara Outlaws edged the New Hampshire Derry Heifers at The Corn
Crib by the score of 5 to 4.

Santa Barbara had the winning rally in the 8th inning scoring 3 runs utilizing
2 base hits.  Randy Winn led off the inning for Santa Barbara when he ripped
a base-knock.  Adam Kennedy followed and he drew a walk.  Milton Bradley then
stroked a single which scored a run.  Mike Lowell was up next and he reached
on an error scoring one more run.  Nomar Garciaparra dug into the batters box
next, but he struck out.  Juan Uribe added to the uprising and hit a deep fly
scoring the final run of the inning.  Santa Barbara rapped out 10 hits for
the night.  

Curt Schilling(2-0) went 7 innings allowing 4 runs for the win. Armando
Benitez earned his 2nd save.  The loss was charged to Odalis Perez(0-1) in
relief.  He was unable to retire a batter and surrendered 1 hit and 1 walk.
