TINLEY REDBIRDS

INAUGURAL SEASON
2005

SOM HISTORY
I have been involved in Strat-o-Matic since I was 12 (I am now 39), when my bother, who I knew liked baseball, bought me the board game for my birthday, not knowing what it was, just that it involved baseball. I've been playing ever since. I took some time off in high school, college days but I am now involved mroe than ever with these play-by-mail leagues. I am currently in several other leagues and I am having loads of fun in all of them.

FRANCHISE NOTES
My team is in a major rebuilding period and I wouldn't be surprised if I end up with the worst record. The pitching staff is led by Rodrigo Lopez, Erik Bedard and Jae Seo with David Cortes as the closer. Have some other bright spots for youth in Edwin Encarnacion, Russ Adams, and Matt Murton. Ray Durham, Raul Ibanez, and Garret Anderson are highlights in the lineup. Signed Frank Thomas in the offseason. Hopefully that turns out to be a bargain. We'll see what happens.

OCCUPATION
Associate Actuary at CNA Insurance Company. Actuaries are either responsible for pricing your insurance policies or reserving appropriate amounts for claims. I used to be in the pricing of auto and homeowners' insurance and now I am in reserving for medical malpractice.

MARITAL STATUS
Married to my beautiful wife Julie.

CHILDREN
None.

OTHER HOBBIES/INTERESTS
Cooking (who like to open a restaurant), reading, oh and studying for Actuarial exams.

FAVORITE BASEBALL TEAM
Chicago White Sox (I actually started into baseball by following the Oakland A's in the early 1970s so I have always had a place in my heart for them.

FAVORITE PLAYER
Rollie Fingers. He was part of that great A's team in the '70s and the first baseball player I took notice of when I started following baseball with that great mustache.

FAVORITE BASEBALL MEMORY
My father taking me to the White Sox opening day in 1977. They were giving out these soft cloth baseball and they were being thrown everywhere.
