SPRINGFIELD ISOTOPES

INAUGURAL SEASON
August 2001

SOM HISTORY
My first exposure to Strat-O-Matic came when I was about 10 years old and my brother Joal came home from college with a new set of cards. The next few summers saw us playing many games and drafting a few new leagues. This didn't work out so well for every team... as I recall the Dodgers were once forced to regularly bat Chad Curtis fifth in their order.

FRANCHISE NOTES
I took over the Wauwatosa Wizards' baseball personnel operations in August 2001, when C. Montgomery "Monty" Burns purchased the club. The team moved to Springfield the following season. Since a rebuilding campaign in 2002, the Isotopes have thrice advanced to the postseason (including two division championships) but now find ourselves again in a rebuilding phase.

OTHER HOBBIES/INTERESTS
Besides sports, I really enjoy music and television. I recently graduated from the University of Wisconsin with a degree in communications. I hope to eventually work in network or cable television, perhaps in programming or editing.

FAVORITE BASEBALL TEAM
Chicago White Sox

FAVORITE PLAYERS
Frank Thomas, Justin Morneau

FAVORITE BASEBALL MEMORY
May 18, 1995 -- Angels versus Twins at the Metrodome. I watch as Andy Allanson hits two home runs in the Angels' win. It is his only multi-homer game in a career that I otherwise wouldn't remember.
